See. Hear. Meet.

Creating a dynamic new breed of media company, focused on its role of being central to how New Zealanders connect to what’s happening around them.

APN NZ was once described as “New Zealand’s largest media company that nobody had heard of” and wasn’t helped by a name which stood for Australian Provincial Newspapers – affording little connection back to New Zealand.

It was time to change that. Welcome NZME. – a dynamic new breed of media company, in tune with what New Zealanders expect and always putting the consumer at the centre of how they want to customize content.

NZME. stands for New Zealand Media and Entertainment, but the ‘ME’ reflects the nature of a brand that talks to New Zealanders in different ways. Moving away from what had been a traditional top down and hierarchical structure, to a more involved parent to its many brands such as GrabOne, NewstalkZB, Hauraki, The New Zealand Herald and iHeartRadio. The NZME. brand is all about celebrating the living energy of media as it constantly moves and shifts. The system is designed to frame content – with simplified access via three portals of News, Sports and Entertainment across all the brands.

Working in collaboration with the team at what was APN NZ, the project drew on all facets of Designwork’s armoury – from brand strategy and design through spatial, motion and digital.

See hear meet NZME.
